WHAT IS BUILDING
If one is ask to define or explain building, it may end up running into streams of pages since building itself entails a lot of things. Narrowing our mind set and thought process down to the normal building we know, we shall be focusing on building structures and its impact in the lives of both Man and Animals.
Building structures(building fabrics) is an external envelope created by man using natural or man made components and by invoking the necessary technology and work force to produce an internal environment to accommodate both man and its properties.
This external envelope must be capable of shielding the occupants from external prevailing weather condition and as well provide agreeable environment worth living in.
Most of this building structures are constructed from the combination of the different components ranging from blocks of different types, stones, thatch, wood, mud, metal, plastics to mention but a few.
In subsequent time, we shall be discussing the importance of building structure, the standard of structural materials to be used, maintenance of the building fabrics and lots more.
